Tour Detail
Get ready for a wonderful program where you will both relax and experience moments full of exploration on Samos, one of the most enjoyable islands in the Aegean.
Day 1 | Departure from Kuşadası – Vathy Exploration
We meet at 07:30 at Kuşadası Port (Scala Nuova) in the morning. After completing our passport procedures, we depart at 08:30 by fast ferry and after approximately 45 minutes of a delightful sea journey, we arrive at the center of Samos Island, Vathy Port. On certain dates, our guide may meet you at Samos Port to join the tour from there.
(Our passengers joining from Seferihisar will be greeted by our guide at Samos port.)
We advise guests receiving a port visa to sit near the exit on the ferry to expedite their processes.
Our check-in time at the hotels is 15:00, but earlier entrance to our rooms may be possible depending on availability.
In the afternoon, we will meet at a location specified by our guide at 16:00 and begin to get to know Vathy with our guide. During our pleasant one-and-a-half-hour walking tour, we start exploring Vathy. Throughout our approximately one-and-a-half-hour stroll, we receive information from our guide about the island's rich history, daily life culture, the local people's lifestyle, charming cafes, delicious restaurants, and entertainment spots. As we progress through the narrow streets, we closely witness both the past and present spirit of Samos.
During our walk, we will see the only Catholic Church on the island, which is currently abandoned. This structure, noted for its silence and mystical atmosphere, becomes one of our special stops that illuminate the island's multicultural past.
Then we reach Aslanlı Square, which is the heart of the city and the oldest square in Samos still actively used. Here we see the lion statue symbolizing the square and explore the surrounding historical architecture. The Municipal Building and Archaeological Museum, located around the square, are important structures that carry traces of the island's history.
In the final part of our tour, we conclude our tour at the statue of Themistocles Sofoulis, an important figure in modern Greek history, known as Samos' first president. At this meaningful spot, we both take souvenir photos and engrain the history and cultural atmosphere of Vathy in our memories.
During your remaining free time, you can sit in cafes overlooking Vathy, take a walk along the beach, or enjoy the sea.
In the evening, one of the activities that most beautifully reflects the spirit of the island awaits you. In our Extra Organized Taverna Night program, we have fun in a pleasant atmosphere with live Greek music. The menu served includes unlimited ouzo and wine. Interested guests can receive suggestions from our guide for continuing the night entertainment at different venues.

Our next stop is Pythagorion, known as the birthplace of the famous mathematician Pythagoras. Enchanted by its historical character and seaside atmosphere, we explore this area with our guide; we learn about the Samos Castle, Transfiguration Church, and the famous Blue Street. After a short walk in the harbor area, we pause for a photo in front of the Pythagoras Monument.
Then we have a pleasant meal break at one of the most popular restaurants by the sea. You can try fresh seafood and enjoy the flavors of Greek cuisine.
On the return trip, we make a short shopping stop at Lidl, one of Europe's largest chain markets. Here you can find both reasonably priced products and local flavors.
