After arriving in Çukurova Adana, we meet our vehicle and after breakfast at a suitable place, we visit the Stone Bridge, one of the oldest stone bridges still in use in the world, located over the Seyhan River. The structure has served as an important bridge between Europe and Asia for centuries. Harun Reşit connected the bridge to Adana Castle with some additions. With its magnificent architecture, the Sabancı Merkez Mosque, is one of the largest mosques in the Balkans and the Middle East. Next, we proceed to the Büyük Saat, one of the first settlement areas of Adana. After lunch, consisting of the famous Adana Kebab, we visit the Adana Cinema Museum, which features important artists who have contributed to the cinema history. After free time here, we visit the Italian Catholic Church located in the center of Adana, which contains a 2.5-meter tall bronze statue of the Virgin Mary, originally built as an Armenian Apostolic Church in the late 19th century. We participate in the Orange Blossom Festival. We provide free time in the festival area, where guests can photograph the Festival Parade if they wish. After that, we head to our hotel.
Dinner and accommodation at our hotel.
DAY 2:
After having breakfast at our hotel, we head towards Tarsus. Tarsus, one of the oldest settlement points, has been under the rule of the Hitites, Assyrians, Persians, Macedonians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans. Known as one of the oldest settlements in the world, this district hosts significant buildings thanks to its multiculturalism. We will see the Tarsus Waterfall, followed by a tea break by the Berdan River, the second highest in terms of flow rate in Turkey, which is also one of the shortest rivers in Anatolia. After our tea break, we will visit the following places in Tarsus: Cleopatra Gate, Makamı Şerif Mosque (Tomb of Prophet Daniel), Saint Paul Church (Old Mosque), Saint Paul Well, and the Old Tarsus houses and streets. After visiting Saint Paul Church and Ulu Mosque, we will provide free time in Beyaz Çarşı (Forty Spoons Bedesten). Afterwards, we will visit the Nusrat Minesweeper. The mines laid by Nusrat changed the fate of the Gallipoli Campaign on March 18, 1915, earning it the title of "the world's most famous minesweeper." Nusrat's mines sunk the battleships Bouvet, and subsequently Inflexible and Bolva, with its crew of 639.
After our tour, we return to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3:
After having breakfast at our hotel, we will visit another sightseeing spot within Tarsus borders, the Eshab-ı Kehf (Seven Sleepers) Cave. This cave is considered sacred by both Muslims and Christians. According to legend, during a time when devotion to gods had waned, the Seven Believers, who avoided persecution by believing in the One God, were brought before the pagan ruler Dakyanus. This ruler, who insisted they adhere to the pagan faith or face execution, granted them a few days to consider. To escape death, they fled to this cave and fell into a sleep for 300 years, bestowed by God. The first to wake up goes to the city to buy food but is caught due to outdated currency. When he tells the finder where he got the money, he reveals that he was not alone and had spent time with his seven friends in the cave. Upon returning, they found only a nest with seven baby birds. Thus, this place is known as the Seven Sleepers Cave. Near the Eshab-ı Kehf Cave, there is a mosque built by Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz in 1873. After our tour, we head towards Çukurova Adana. We take free time and leave for the airport at the time determined by our guide. We will perform our flight to İzmir with XQ9307 at 22:40. We bid farewell until we meet again in another organization.
