Day 1
CITY CENTER and NORTH ISLAND TOUR
We meet at the check-in office located at the Çeşme customs port entrance at 08:00 in the morning for the Chios Island tour. After passport control, our pleasant journey begins in the blue waters of the Aegean at 09:20. Upon arriving at the Chios Island port and completing the entry procedures, we gather at our office and start exploring the hidden treasure of the Aegean, Chios Island. After passing through the APLOTERYA, the market of Chios Island, and visiting the MECİDİYE Mosque built by Sultan Abdulmecid, we will continue to VOUNAKİ SQUARE, the largest and busiest square on the island. Next, we visit SAKIZ CASTLE, built during the BYZANTINE period, which later served as the administrative center during the GENOESE and OTTOMAN periods, and its OTTOMAN artifacts. After our visit, we gather at the designated time and begin our North Island tour. Our first stop is the seaside area where we see the four windmills (TABAKİKA), a significant symbol of the island. The historical windmills were used to draw water to the tanneries (tabakika) that gave the region its name. In recent years, they have been restored with the help of the municipality and have become a must-see for all tourists. After our photo break here, we continue our tour. Our next stop is DASKALOPETRA, the area where the famous ancient poet Homer of Chios created the Iliad and Odyssey. This large stone, turned into a school by his students in the 6th century BC, will make you ponder the lifestyle and artistic understanding of thousands of years ago. Then we will have our lunch break in LANGADA, the sweetest fishing village of the island. You will have the opportunity to taste traditional mezes and classic dishes of Greek cuisine, as well as the freshest seafood in the classic seaside taverns (restaurants). On our return route, we will stop for a photo opportunity at the AGİOS İSİDOROS church, one of the symbol points of the island over the sea, where it is said the story of Mastic gum began with this Saint.
Day 2
MIDDLE AND WEST ISLAND TOUR (OPTIONAL)
Guests wishing to participate can join the optional West Island tour. After breakfast, we take our seats in the vehicle and head towards the NEA MONİ Monastery, which was built about a thousand years ago and became the most important religious center in the Aegean for centuries. This monastery has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Following this, we visit ANAVATOS, the most well-protected village on the island, and learn about its somber history, then head towards AVGONİMA village for lunch. On our way back, we will visit KAMBOS, the most interesting and special village of the island, known for its grandeur from the Genoese period (14-15th centuries) and medieval architecture. We will take a coffee break in the garden of a beautiful mansion (CITRUS) from ancient times. Additionally, this mansion serves as a museum telling the history of the island's famous oranges since the Genoese period. After this, we head to the hotel and have free time. If you wish, you can enjoy traditional island dishes for dinner and participate in an unforgettable Greek night filled with Yunan music and dances accompanied by "Bouzouki."
Day 3
SOUTH ISLAND TOUR
After breakfast, we take our seats in the vehicle and start our tour towards the southern villages of the island where the production of MASTIC gum is monopolized. Our first stop will be ARMOLIA village, famous for its handmade ceramics for centuries, where we will take a small break to visit a renowned ceramics workshop. Our next stop will be MESTA, the best-preserved medieval castle-village on Chios Island, which takes us back to the 13th century. We navigate through its maze-like streets to the village square and have a coffee break. After visiting the Taxiarchis church, we leave the village. Our next village is PYRGİ, known for its geometric designs on houses, making it unique in the world. Our guide will provide us detailed information about the ksista technique that has been utilized from the Genoese period to this day. Then, we go to a seaside tavern for lunch, where our guests can choose from a menu consisting of various seafood and mezes. On our return, we bid farewell to you from the Chios island port with beautiful memories.
