Tour Program
We depart early in the morning from Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport via Sunexpress flight to Şanlıurfa. Upon arrival, we start the day with the region's famous flavors. Then, we move on to our first stop, Göbeklitepe, which is considered one of the world's oldest known temple areas and has changed our perspective on human history. We visit this special area with a fascinating atmosphere dating back 12,000 years, guided by our guide's explanations. Afward, following the road to the Akçakale border crossing, we reach our district of Harran, located on the Silk Road. Harran holds the belief of Sin, the Mesopotamian culture goddess of the moon, and also means "crossing paths." Here, we visit the Harran mound standing 22 meters high in the center of the city, Camii el Firdevs (Paradise Mosque) built by Umayyad Caliph Marwan, featuring a wooden dome, the First Islamic Madrasa established in Anatolia (Harran University) located in its courtyard, the Inner Castle, Historical Walls, and Conical Dome Houses. Continuing our tour, we explore Balıklıgöl, Ayn Zeliha Lake, historic bazaars, and the spiritual atmosphere around them in central Şanlıurfa. Afterward, we provide free time for shopping local products, especially isot. In the evening, we join the Sira Night Entertainment, one of the indispensable elements of Şanlıurfa culture. We spend an unforgettable evening with music, local flavors, and a fun atmosphere.
Accommodation at our hotel in Şanlıurfa.
Our tour begins after breakfast at the hotel, reaching Halfeti, the homeland of black roses, partially submerged under water, via Birecik Dam, the fourth dam on the Euphrates River flowing north to south. Here, we board our boat (EXTRA) to visit Rum Kale, Historic Cave Houses, and Savaşan Village where you can see structures underwater, then return to Halfeti. We board our bus and reach the Kelaynak Birds Conservation Center located in the Birecik district. After completing our inspections, we head to Gaziantep. We conduct our visit to the Gaziantep Museum, where you can see the magnificent floor and wall mosaics recovered from the submerged ancient city of Zeugma. We visit the Historic Bath Museum along the way. Afterwards, we move to the historic coppersmiths' bazaar. Guests who wish may purchase these fading copper crafts during the provided free time. Following the explanations, we reach Tahmis Coffee House, one of the symbols of Antep, whose history dates back to Sultan Murat IV. After drinking coffee here, during the free time given at Almacılar Bazaar, you can buy paste, dried pepper, spices, Antep pistachios, and baklava. Then, we arrive at Gaziantep Airport and return to Izmir with Sunexpress Airlines' 22:45 Gaziantep – Izmir flight. We bid farewell until we meet again at another of our organizations.
